Amanda Rivera is a visionary human resources leader, healthcare advocate, and organizational changemaker whose impact resonates across the nine communities served by Briarfield Health Care Centers. As the company’s Corporate Human Resources Director, Amanda has transformed workplace culture, implemented innovative staffing solutions, and championed professional development initiatives that have empowered employees and enhanced resident care throughout the organization.
Amanda began her journey in healthcare humbly — as a dietary aide in high school — and rose through the ranks with hard-earned experience and a deep understanding of the industry. After joining Briarfield in 2018 as Executive Director of The Inn at Walker Mill, Amanda led the community through a major transition, providing steady leadership, operational excellence, and compassionate care. Her ability to inspire staff and stabilize operations quickly led to her promotion to the organization’s top HR role.
In her current position, Amanda has led groundbreaking efforts during some of the most turbulent years in healthcare, including the COVID-19 pandemic. From launching the Certified Medication Aide Program to streamlining digital scheduling platforms and forging partnerships with local nursing schools, Amanda has made strategic workforce development a pillar of Briarfield’s continued success. Her efforts have resulted in stronger recruitment, improved retention, and a workplace culture rooted in recognition, opportunity, and respect.
Amanda holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Gerontology from Youngstown State University’s Williamson College of Business, pairing academic excellence with real-world leadership. She is also a proud member of the MCCTC Advisory Board, where she helps guide the next generation of healthcare professionals. In addition to her professional responsibilities, she regularly assists residents with activities and events, staying connected to the people at the heart of her organization’s mission.
Her journey — from frontline worker to executive leader — embodies what it means to grow with integrity and lead with purpose. Amanda’s unwavering commitment to workforce empowerment, resident well-being, and long-term care innovation makes her not only a role model but a driving force in the region’s healthcare landscape.
For these reasons and more, Amanda Rivera is a powerful and well-deserving honoree of the 2025 25 Under 35 Award, exemplifying excellence in leadership, service, and professional growth.
